1841: First Mass

On the feast of the Most Holy Trinity, Don Bosco celebrated his First Mass in the church of St.Francis of Assisi, Turin. He recalled: “Still, I chose to celebrate my first Mass in Turin without any fuss at the Guardian Angel altar, a side altar at the left of the sanctuary. It was Trinity Sunday I can surely say that this was the most beautiful day of my life…” (BM 1, 386)

1857: First past pupil priest

Felix Reviglio was one of the first four to receive cassock at the Oratory. He left Don Bosco and joined the seminary. Later, he became pastor of his own native church of St. Augustine and a Synodal Examiner. (BM III, 243)

1922: Indulgence for work

Blessed Rinaldi obtained from Pius XI the indulgence of sanctified work. All Salesians and cooperators could gain an indulgence of 400 days by reciting any ejaculatory prayer during work, and a plenary indulgence once a day under the usual conditions.(cfr. CD13. 227)
