1945: Death of Father Francis Varvello

He studied at the Oratory. The parish priest and his parents advised him to join the seminary. Francis asked Don Bosco’s advice. The saint told him, “You will do very well as a diocesan priest, but if you remain with Don Bosco, you will do even better!” Francis became a salesian and spent all his life (except four years as Rector at Foglizzo) teaching Philosophy at Valsalice. He had a tender devotion to Our Lady. (cfr. CDB. 247)
