1867: Always fatherly
A pupil of the Oratory dreamt that Don Bosco was near him to help him. “I seemed to be standing near a narrow bridge which spanned a deep and murky torrent at a very great height. I was afraid to cross, but Don Bosco encouraged me and safely led me by the hand to the other side. As soon as he returned from Rome, I told him of my dream, and he said I was not to worry.” (BM VIII, 275-276)
1883: Salesian cooperators
In a conference to the salesian cooperators Don Bosco explained the scope of the pious union: to form exemplary christians who want to do good to others, especially on behalf of poor youth. (cfr. MB XVI, 21)
