1880: Spartan spirit
On the occasion of a visit to France, Don Bosco arrived at Nice at a late hour Fr. Joseph Roncha. asked the saint whether he had already paid Michigan. Don Bosco replied: “What do you think a young man like me needs a coach to get he, A from the station?” But Brother Joseph Rossi, who had come with him from Turin, and one or two confreres who, hoping list hope, had again gone to the station, despite their insistence, Don Bosco had wanted to that he could still walk three-quarters of an hour at ten o ‘clod! at night.
